Warning Message:A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 am EST
Saturday.
Strong north to northeast flow will continue to weaken tonight...
but tidal anomalies will be slow to diminish...keeping the threat
for minor to moderate flooding for the next high tide cycle Saturday
morning.
High tides this afternoon have occurred...with water levels
referenced to mean lower low water reaching 6.2 feet at Sewells
Point...and 6.3 feet at the Chesapeake Bay bridge
Tunnel...resulting in moderate to severe flooding.
The next high tide cycle will occur at 649 am EST at Sewells
Point...and at 605 am EST at the Chesapeake Bay bridge Tunnel.
Water levels with these high tides referenced to mean lower low
water...are expected to reach 5.5 to 6.0 feet at both
locations...resulting in minor to moderate flooding.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or
imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert
for rising water...and take appropriate action to protect life
and property.
